The craft
No machine touches this
Each shawl begins as raw wool, hand-spun in the villages above the Swat river and woven on a wooden loom. The pattern is chalked freehand — no stencil, no repeat — then embroidered over weeks by a single pair of hands.
When it is finished, the chalk is gone and the drawing lives only in the cloth. That is why every piece is one of one.
